Springfield, MO - Evangel University's women's tennis program has signed Kelly Bush, a transfer from the College of Central Florida. Bush played two seasons for the junior college program and her doubles team won the Florida Community College Athletics Association tournament championship last spring.

Bush was named her team's Patriot Award winner last year, an award presented to the student-athlete that best represents the ideals of teamwork, dedication, unselfishness and commitment.

"Kelly will be an outstanding addition to our team," said Evangel head tennis coach Debbie De Almeida. "The minute I talked to her on the phone I knew she would be a great fit for our team. When I saw Kelly play I was confident that she would add strength to our singles roster and with her doubles expertise it is a win-win signing. I am excited to see Kelly continue with her college tennis career and I know her addition to our team has made us a tougher competitor in our conference."

Bush is from Ocala, Florida and played in the number one positions in singles and doubles for her high school. She is the daughter of Larry and Debbie Bush and will major in Communications at Evangel University.
