KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Junior guard Katie Potter from Peru State was selected the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday morning.
Potter helped the Bobcats end a season-long victory drought as Peru State picked up its first two wins as a member of the conference. A native of Omaha, Neb., Potter averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists while hitting 10-of-22 field goals, 6-of-11 three-point shots and 7-of-11 free throws.
Rarely leaving the floor for Peru State last weekend, Potter helped the Bobcats to their first victory with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds to go along with six assists against Graceland. Two days later back home against Evangel, she tallied a season-high 20 points as she hit 4-of-5 three-point shots in a 61-59 triumph.
Potter will represent the conference in the running for the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, which will be released no later than Tuesday afternoon.
