Larry Lady, Commissioner of the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC), announced today that HAAC men's and women's basketball programs will move from NAIA Division II to Division I beginning the 2008-09 season. The HAAC schools have been Division II since 1992.

For the first time in 16 years, the HAAC men's teams will compete in the Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship Tournament March 18-24, 2009 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.  

The HAAC women's teams will play in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Championship Tournament March 18-24, 2009 at Oman Arena in Jackson, Tenn.
