TOWSON, Md. - Central Methodist teammates Lucas Manring and Ryan Sherman were both named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America College Division Men's Track and Field/Cross Country teams earlier this week.

 
To be named to one of the three squads, each student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 3.00, have reached sophomore atlhetic and academic standings and be nominated by their institution's sports information director.
 
A senior from Stockton, Mo., Manring boasted a 3.56 GPA as an accounting major. He was a 2nd-team honoree who claimed all-American status at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this Spring after placing 3rd in the 800m. Sherman, a junior hometown product of Fayette, Mo., was named to the 3rd team after he tallied a 3.60 GPA as he majored in business. He also had a fine showing at the outdoor championships, placing 10th in the 200m.
