TOWSON, Md. - Peru State standouts Kesha Beethe and Danielle Prchal were both named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America College Division Women's Track and Field/Cross Country second team earlier this week.
To be named to one of the three squads, each student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 3.00, have reached sophomore atlhetic and academic standings and be nominated by their institution's sports information director.
A sports management and exercise science major from Tecumseh, Neb., Beethe was a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete this season and will have the opportunity to represent Nebraska at the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference next week in San Antonio, Tex. Prchal is a senior social science education major with one year of eligibility remaining from Omaha, Neb. She is also an active volunteer with both on- and off-campus organizations and was a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
