Marshall, Mo. (August 1, 2012) The Missouri Valley men's and women's volleyball teams are under new leadership, as Brett Holt has officially been announced as head coach for both programs.

 

Coach Holt served as a graduate assistant for the women's program during their 2011 season, helping to guide the Lady Vikings to a 16-13 overall record.

 

During the 2012 men's volleyball season, Coach Holt served as interim co-head coach, leading the team to a record of 21-9, a No. 7 national ranking, and a school record for most wins in a season.

 

Coach Holt played college volleyball for The Ohio State University's men's club team.  At OSU he earned a bachelor of science degree in sports and leisure studies with a concentration in recreation management and coaching.

 

Coach Holt also has prior coaching experience at the high school, club and collegiate club level, which includes a sixth year stint as the head coach of The Ohio State University's women's club team from 2000-2005, including a national runner-up finish in 2005.

 

The women's volleyball season will begin Friday Aug. 24th by playing in the Mount Mercy Invitational in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
