FAYETTE, Mo. - The Central Methodist University cheer squad is set to travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the Cheer LTD Nationals March 20-22 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

The CMU squad, which includes 30 athletes and is coached by Jessica Cook-Kendrick, will compete in the coed and all-girl categories. Four athletes on the CMU squad will also compete in the all-girl stunt group competition. Tennessee Tech University, an NCAA Division I school who CMU played in football last season, will be among the squads competing at the LTD Nationals.
 

"This will be the first year we compete with a coed squad at nationals," Cook-Kendrick said. "We are very excited to be going to our second national competition and are looking forward to hopefully bringing home another trophy."
 

This is the second straight year that the CMU squad competed at a national competition. Last year, the group competed at the USA Collegiate Nationals in Las Vegas. The team placed in the top 10 in all three divisions in which it competed - hip-hop, all-girl, and coed partner stunt.
