MARSHALL, Mo - The Missouri Valley College making their first appearance in the NAIA National Women's Tennis Tournament made an early exit losing to Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) by the score of 8-1

Sixteen women's tennis teams did battle on day one of the 2009 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center Tuesday, and eight unseeded qualifiers advanced to today's second round. Those winners will face the eight seeded qualifiers who received a bye from the first round of the tournament. The matches will take place at 1:00 p.m.

The only win for MVC was #6 singles player Lindsay Tworek (Jr. Columbus, NE) as she defeated Lindsey Sheene (Jr. Yosemite, Ky.) 7-5, 6-0.

#2 - Trina Slapeka/Darya Yablonskaya (LW) def. Tershelle Burrows/Juliana Doyle (MV) 8-1

#3 - Weyreuter (LW) def. Burrows (MV) 6-1, 6-1

#5 - Wojtowicz (LW) def. Holtfreter (MV) 6-0, 6-3
