FAYETTE, Mo. - Central Methodist University baseball pitcher Jessie Zuber was invited to a tryout with the St. Louis Cardinals June 3 in St. Louis.
 Zuber, a native of Keizer, Ore., finished his senior season at CMU this spring. At the tryout, Zuber had several pitches clocked at more than 90 mph, topping out at 92 mph. During the 2009 season, Zuber earned five wins and posted one save for Central Methodist. He posted 51 strikeouts in 61.2 innings of work for the Eagles, including a season-high eight strikeouts in six innings against Graceland University.
