FAYETTE, Mo. - The construction of the new strength training facility in Central Methodist University's Mabee Athletic Facility has been completed, CMU Athletic Director and Vice President for Campus Life Ken Oliver announced.

The state-of-the-art weight room, which is more than 3,500-square feet, was part of the addition of the Mabee Athletic Facility at CMU. The equipment, furnished by Hammer Strength, features eight platforms, eight power racks, Olympic certified Werkson bumper plates, six ground-base machines, five multi-joint unilateral leg and hip machines, a four-way Life Fitness jungle, two sets of Crown Mats plyo boxes, 25 medicine and core balls, and dumbbells ranging from five to 100 pounds in 2.5-pound increments, as well as a J.B.L. sound system and two 50-inch flat screen TVs. "This facility truly shows the commitment that we are putting into our athletes and athletic teams," CMU Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Nate Breland said. "It is fully functional for all of our teams, and will offer each athlete every advantage to enhance strength, speed and overall athletic performance."
 

The Mabee Athletic Facility is a $1.8 million addition, which is part of CMU's Campaign for Eagle Athletics. In addition to the weight room, the Mabee Athletic Facility two meeting rooms that will house up to 150 people, locker rooms, athletic offices, laundry facilities, and restrooms for Puckett Field House, which is the site for CMU basketball and volleyball contests.
