Nine players with ties to the Heart of America Athletic Confernece took part in the annual Ban Johnson Amateur baseball league All-Star game on Monday in Kansas City, Mo.

The event, held annually at Kauffman Stadium, showcases some of the best under 22 college baseball talent in the Kansas City metro area. The Ban Johnson League plays all of their games during June and July within the metro area.

Avila's Luis Barerra and Andrew Valarde, Benedictine's Mac Moore and Alex Thompson and William Jewell's Jon Farris, J.P. Bartness, Freddie Adamson, Joe Summers and Reed Martens represented the HAAC in the game.

The 40th-annual game was won by the B squad 3-1 over the J squad. William Jewell's J.P. Bartness was named the games MVP.

The Ban Johnson League was founded in 1927 and is a summer wood-bat league for college baseball players who reside in the 15 counties in Missouri and 12 counties in Kansas. The All-Star game has been hosted by the Royals since 1969 when it was played at Municipal Stadium.
