Culver-Stockton College volleyball coach Richard Meyer will add another title to his business card for the 2009-10 academic school year.

Wildcat athletic director Joel Dant announced today that Meyer would lead the Wildcat softball program, replacing Michelle Krassinger, who resigned in May. Meyer will remain the head coach of the Wildcat volleyball program, a position he has held since 2006. Meyer served as an assistant to Krassinger during the 2008 season.

Meyer served as the high school volleyball and softball coach at Camp Point (Ill.) Central High School for over 25 years before retiring in 2005. On the softball diamond, Meyer compiled a 346-261 overall record in 25 years, capturing eight West Central Conference championships and one Illinois Regional title during that period. In 2009, Meyer was elected to the Illinois Softball Coaches Association's Hall of Fame.

Meyer has mentored the Wildcat volleyball program since 2006, accumulating a 29-75 overall record in three seasons. He led the Wildcat netters to a 5-5 conference mark (12-25 overall) in 2008, leading them to the postseason for the first time since 2006.
