KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Malone University (Ohio) captured 19 first-place votes to hold its No. 1 ranking for the 29th consecutive week in the NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25, the NAIA announced Wednesday. Behind the Pioneers, the top-10 teams are unchanged. No. 2 Southern Oregon University was awarded three first-place votes, but still trails Malone by 16 points in the poll, tallying 604 to the Pioneers 620. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.) is listed third, followed by No. 4 Concordia University (Neb.) and No. 5 University of British Columbia.

There was only one exchange of teams in and out of this week's Top 25 with Oklahoma Christian entering at No. 20 and Cedarville (Ohio) falling out of the ranks. Oklahoma Christian has spent four previous weeks on the poll, climbing as high as No. 4, and returns to the poll after only receiving votes a week ago.

Black Hills State (S.D.) jumped from No. 16 to 13 and six other teams had positive movement in the poll, but it was moving up only one spot. Simon Fraser (B.C.) was the week's biggest mover, dropping five positions from No. 12 to 17.

Three conferences, Sooner Athletic Conference, Cascade Collegiate Conference and the Association of Independent Institutions, each have three teams represented among the Top 25. No. 15 Oklahoma Baptist, Oklahoma Christian and No. 25 Wayland Baptist (Texas) represent the SAC, while the Cascade is visible in Southern Oregon, No. 12 College of Idaho and No. 22 Eastern Oregon. British Columbia, No. 8 California State-San Marcos and Simon Fraser appear for the A.I.I.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. The next poll will be released on Oct. 28.
