Lamoni, IA- The future is bright for All-HAAC defender Edson Edward  (Ottawa, ON), who was selected today in the Major League Soccer (MLS) supplemental draft by FC Dallas. The star defender was a key cog in the Jackets 10-6-2 campaign this year and last year's 13-5-2 showing, appearing in 37 games in his tenure at Graceland.

Edward will join two-time HAAC All-American Kevin Souter as the second former-Yellowjacket in the MLS.  Souter (Portsoy, Scotland) currently of the Kansas City Wizards, joined the Kansas City club as a developmental player in 2008 and made his debut against the Los Angeles Galaxy on September 13th of that year.

"We are very proud of Eddie and know he will make the most of this exciting opportunity," said Coach Angel Monroy. "It has been great to see Kevin [Souter] go on and succeed on the next level, and I'm confident Eddie will be able to make that transition as well.  It says a lot about our program and the type of players we attract that a smaller school like Graceland can see guys go on to enjoy a professional career when their days as a Yellowjacket are over," added Coach Monroy.
