No. 17 Life (Ga.) is one of the biggest movers in the poll and one of three teams to appear in the Top 25 after sitting out last week. The Eagles have won seven in-a-row including an upset of then-No. 1 Mountain State (W.Va.) on Feb. 27. No. 22 Montana Western and No. 25 Tougaloo (Miss.) join Life as the newcomers. Montana Western is 22-8 and the No. 2 seed in the Frontier Conference Tournament, which starts on Tuesday. Tougaloo improved to 21-7 thanks to a 5-1 record in its last six games. Both teams are back in the Top 25 after a two-week hiatus.
No. 2 Oklahoma Baptist slides up one spot with a total of 302 points. The Bison have been an anchor in the top-five all season long. They are tied with Concordia for the most wins in the country with a 28-2 overall record. The Bison won the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season championship after a 77-75 win over then-No. 5 Southern Nazarene (Okla.) on Feb. 25. They will take their No. 1 seed into the conference tournament, which starts on Thursday.
Mountain State falls to No. 3, after losing twice in the last week. The Cougars had occupied the No. 1 spot for the previous nine straight polls before falling to No. 12 Lee (Tenn.) on Feb. 22 and then-unranked Life on Feb. 27. With 292 total points in the poll, Mountain State stands at 24-2 on the year. The Cougars take a No. 1 seed into the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament, which starts on Friday.
Holding strong at No. 4 is Westminster (Utah), who recorded 269 total points. The Griffins have won 10 straight games and stands 20-1 in their last 21 games.
